Arizona State women’s tennis (2-1) bounced back at the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Sunday. The 20th-ranked Sun Devils swept Iowa (0-2) in Austin, Texas.
ASU took the doubles point after the pairings of Marianna Argyrokastriti/Sammi Hampton (6-2) and Lauryn John-Baptiste/Ilze Hattingh (6-4) each won their matches pretty quickly.
Tereza Kolarova, John-Baptiste and Argyrokastriti then earned 2-0 victories in their singles matches to lift Arizona State to victory. Giulia Morlet and Hattingh were leading their matches but went unfinished because the game was already decided.
The Sun Devils return home next week for a Jan. 31 match against Northern Arizona at 12:00 p.m. MT.
