2022 Top 100 Recruit Larry Turner-Gooden makes pledge to the Sun Devils, ASU makes Humphrey’s Top 5

2022 starting off hot

The 2022 Arizona State football recruiting class has started off hot. After landing four-star defensive back Jaylin Marshall and 247Sports’ top-ranked kicker Carter Brown, Herm Edwards’ program got more good news on Friday. Consensus top 100 recruit Larry Turner-Gooden announced his commitment to Arizona State.

Turner-Gooden is currently listed inside 247Sports and Rivals top-100 national recruits for the 2022 class.

Despite being listed as an athlete by 247Sports, he projects to be in the defensive secondary for Arizona State. That’d already make an incredible position group if Turner-Gooden and Marshall come in together.

Arizona State has started to make waves again. Similar to Marshall, Turner-Gooden held offers from a ton of top-tier programs. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and plenty more other Power Five programs offered him.

The three current recruits in the 2022 class hail from California, Texas and Florida, which appear to be a focus for this group.

ASU makes top five for Julian Humphrey

The Sun Devils have a chance to add even more talent to the 2022 class on the defensive side of the ball. Julian Humphrey, brother of former Sun Devil John, tweeted out his top five schools of Arizona State, LSU, Texas A&M, Penn State and USC.

Humphrey is rated as a consensus four-star cornerback prospect. 247Sports ranks the Houston prospect as 149th-rated recruit nationally, 18th at the position, and 25th in the state of Texas.
