Arizona State (6-14-2) fell to No. 7 Michigan (13-8) 4-1 on Friday night in Ann Arbor, as the Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on in the third period.
A few defensive breakdowns in the first, and a hat trick from Michigan forward Matty Beniers would be all the Wolverines needed to pull away at Yost Ice Arena.
If there was one positive for ASU, it was the milestone reached by forward Johnny Walker. On the Sun Devils lone goal, Walker recorded an assist, putting him past his former teammate Brinson Pasichnuk for most points in program history with 108.

Pasichnuk previously set the record last season. On the record-breaking point, Walker fired a shot that went in off the chest of forward Chris Grando. Grando now has four points in his last three games.
In net, freshman Cole Brady also put together another solid performance, making 32 saves on the back end.
Game two between the two sides is set for Saturday at 5 p.m. local time.
