ASU Men’s Tennis falls in Pac-12 Championship To USC

Arizona State’s Pac-12 Championship run fell just short in its final match as the Sun Devils fell 4-1 in San Diego, CA on Monday night.

ASU jumped out and grabbed the initial doubles point with a victory from Tim Ruehl and Makey Rakotomalala, but that would be the lone victory of the evening. Here were the full results:

Doubles

2. Stefan Dostanic/Bradley Frye (USC) vs. Nathan Ponwith/Max McKennon (ASU) no result

3. Andrea Bolla/Christian Lerby (ASU) def. Ryder Jackson/Jake Sands (USC) 6-3

Singles

1. Daniel Cukierman (USC) vs. Nathan Ponwith (ASU) no result

2. Makey Rakotomalala (ASU) vs. Riley Smith (USC) 6-4, 6-7, unfinished

3. Stefan Dostanic (USC) def. Tim Ruehl (ASU) 6-3, 7-5

ASU will now await its postseason verdict. The NCAA Selection Show is set for next Monday, May 3.
