The undefeated Cardinal showed its dominance over the Sun Devils on Thursday. Stanford advanced to the finals of the Pac-12 Tournament following an 18-11 win.
Emily Glagolev and Carley Adams scored the game’s first two goals to put Arizona State up 2-0. However, the Sun Devils’ only lead of the contest quickly evaporated. Stanford responded with a 4-0 run and the Cardinal never looked back.
Arizona State struggled to put together long scoring efforts. The Sun Devils did score three in a row in the second period, but the deficit was still at three. That was the closest Arizona State got. Stanford ended the contest on a 5-1 run to put things out of reach.
Adams finished with a team-high three goals and four assists. Kerri Clayton scored twice and also had three assists.
Arizona State will now wait to find out their postseason fate on the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Selection Special on Sunday, May 9 at 6 pm MST. The Sun Devils’ RPI sits at 33 in the latest update back on May 2. The bracket consists of 29 teams.
