Arizona State Men’s Golf reeled in three outstanding recruits, creating one of the best recruiting classes for the 2021-2022 season.

Josele “Jose” Ballester is a part of that special group.

Ballester is a five-time Spanish Champion (U-10, U-12, U-14, U-14 U-16) and one of the best young golfers in Europe.

He placed second at the European Young Masters with Spain in 2018 and was runner-up at the Orange Bowl in 2019 and 2020.

Ballester also placed third at the 2019 Toyota World Junior Championship with Spain and was runner-up at the European Young Masters (individual) in 2019.

He possesses incredible skill and poise which will be a great addition for Arizona State.

Ballester will join teammate David Puig, fellow native from Spain, and plans on making an immediate impact.

Ballester has been compared to John Rahm, former Sun Devil and recent U.S. Open Champion, on multiple occasions.

Such comparison is an honor, and ASU is lucky to gain someone who resembles Rahm, even in the slightest.

If Ballester can live up to the expectations, the Sun Devils are in for a real treat.
