The next page of the NCAA’s investigation into Arizona State’s alleged recruiting violations has come forth on Sunday. Yahoo and Sun Devil Source reported that the university had put first-year tight ends coach Adam Breneman on paid administrative leave back on July 16.
Breneman, who has became an important recruiter for the Sun Devils, was a graduate assistant last season before earning the full-role position coaching the tight ends this past January.
Breneman along with wide receivers coach Prentice Gill and secondary coach Chris Hawkins, all young coaches that Antonio Pierce vouched for because of the program’s aggressive recruiting tactics. The trio were all named in Yahoo’s Pete Thamel’s original report of the investigation saying that directly or indirectly arranged for recruits to travel to Tempe and meet with coaches during a period in which it was not allowed by the NCAA. The documents are said to include “screenshots, receipts, pictures and emails related to numerous potential (recruiting) violations.”
House of Sparky will continue to update this story as more information comes out.
