Arizona State fans had worried about the events that unfolded on Monday due to the NCAA investigation of Sun Devil football. Jaylin Marshall, who had been committed to Arizona State since February, announced that he would be reopening his recruitment.

— Jaylin Marshall (@breadwinnerjay_) July 26, 2021
Marshall was seen as a top 400 prospect in the 2022 class by 247Sports. The talented safety will have plenty of interest on the open market. He holds 30-plus offers including ones from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Oklahoma, Michigan, LSU and Texas.
This news comes a day after reports of Arizona State tight ends coach Adam Breneman was put on administrative leave. Since the alleged recruiting violations came out against the Sun Devil program, Arizona State has gained the commitment of two players, with Marshall being the first to move away. It’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic of the investigation continues to affect the program or whether or not it doesn’t.
