Arizona State is ranked before the season starts? Yep. The Sun Devils came in ranked 25th in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll, which is the first time Arizona State has been ranked in the preseason poll since 2015 (hopefully the 2021 season is better to fans than 2015).
The Pac-12 is pretty well represented in the poll. Oregon is the highest ranked team in the No. 11 spot. After the Ducks are No. 15 USC, No. 20 Washington and No. 24 Utah. All three of those teams are on the Sun Devils’ schedule this season. Arizona State’s non-conference opponent, BYU, got six votes and UCLA received two votes as well.
Is this an exciting thing for fans? Would you rather see the team be right outside the poll before the season? Is this a good thing for the longevity of the program? Add your thoughts in the comment section and discuss.
