Monday was not good to the football program, Bobby Hurley and the men’s basketball squad received some good news.
California prep point guard Richard Isaacs Jr. of the 2022 class released his top four choices through his Instagram. Joining the cut with the Sun Devils are Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and UNLV.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Napa native is ranked as 247Sports’ 37th overall player in the class. The recruiting service has him ranked as the seventh-best player in the state of California and the seventh-best player at his position.
Arizona State currently doesn’t have a commitment from the 2022, meaning Isaacs Jr. could be the centerpiece. The Sun Devils brought in four true freshman in last season’s recruiting class, but none play the point guard position. All three point guards (Toledo transfer Marreon Jackson, Ohio State transfer Luther Muhammad and Illinois State transfer D.J. Horne) currently on the roster are upperclassmen meaning Isaacs Jr. could find early playing time if he were to choose Tempe as his future destination.
A few of his highlights can be seen below:
