For those that know the history of women’s collegiate volleyball, winning in Lincoln against Cornhuskers is quite the task. Arizona State (3-3) kept two sets competitive on Saturday before falling to No. 4 Nebraska (5-0) 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-22).
Outside of Iman Isanovic, Arizona State struggled on attacks. Isanovic was the lone Sun Devil to have more than five kills as Nebraska collected 12 blocks and Arizona State committed 16 errors.
Roberta Rabelo showcased some positive play on the tough day. She was one of four Sun Devils to have at least 10 attacks coming away with the best hitting percentage of the group at .300.
The Sun Devils return home to Arizona next week for the Lumberjack Classic in Flagstaff. Over the three-game span, Arizona State will face Utah Valley, Northern Arizona and UC Davis. It’ll be pivotal for the youthful squad to take the tougher matchups and translate the experience into wins going forward.
